A tank truck transporting diesel fuel overturned at an intersection near Vulcanesti town of Gagauzia in the evening of January 5. The road was partially blocked and traffic was directed by patrol officers, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergencies said the call to 901 was made close to 8pm. Two teams of rescuers with two firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. It was established that the truck was transporting 30 tonnes of diesel fuel. The rescuers and firefighters carried out pumping works and transferred the fuel to another tank truck.

The teams of rescuers and firefighters also ensured anti-fire safety to avoid other situations of risk. After about five hours, the works were completed. Later, the truck was towed away.

The driver was not hurt. He was alone in the vehicle. Other circumstances of the accident are yet to be found out.
