The vice president of the Supreme Court of Justice Tamara Chișca-Doneva, who also served as the acting president of this court, was suspended from post until a final decision is taken in the unjust enrichment case started against her, as the Superior Council of Magistracy decided on Friday, IPN reports.
The issue was examined behind closed doors. As a result of deliberations, the acting president of the Council Dorel Musteață announced that the judge was suspended from the administrative post until a final decision is taken in the given case. The Council’s decision can be challenged in the Chisinau Appeals Court within 30 days.
Judge Svetlana Filincova will serve as acting president of the Supreme Court of Justice.
At the end of March, the Superior Council of Magistracy gave the green light to carry out searches against judge Tamara Chișca-Doneva, who is investigated for unjust enrichment, after a request to this effect was made by acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu. The judge does not accept any blame.
