Talks on Association Agreement could be completed in 2013, Barroso

Moldova will be able to complete negotiations on the Association Agreement with the European Union until the 3rd Eastern Partnership Summit in the fall of 2013. The statement was made by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso at the Annual Conference of EU Heads of Delegation in Brussels on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a press release from the Moldovan Government it was said that Vlad Filat welcomes Jose Manuel Barroso's statement as a confirmation of the fact that the Moldovan Government has been making the right steps. “The statement is very clear and exact and it doesn't allow room for interpretation. It is a very important thing when the President of the European Commission speaks about the fact that the negotiations with the Republic of Moldova will end until the Eastern Partnership Summit”, stated Vlad Filat. The Prime Minister also regards Jose Manuel Barroso's statement as an appreciation of the work done in Chisinau, adding that, while being an occasion for rejoicing, this should be also an impetus for the Moldovan Government to work at the same pace as in the last three years or even better.
