The European Union and Moldova will analyse together possibilities for the future. But today it is untimely to talk about potential dates for Moldova’s accession or about names for future agreements between the parties, Günter Gloser, German Minister of State, stated upon completion of his two-day visit to Chisinau. According to him, Moldova has taken a few first steps in the right direction, but they should be followed by other ones. The content of measures and the pace of their implementation are decisive for the future talks about a potential accession of Moldova to the EU, the German Minister pointed out. Among the progresses registered by Moldova in accomplishing the Moldova-EU Action Plan, the official mentioned an upgraded level of democracy and transparency in economy. At the same time, he stressed the need for focusing attention on media independence. During his visit to Chisinau, Gloser met with the key officials of Moldova, as well as with representatives of civil society. The discussions focused on Moldova’s performance in accomplishing the Action Plan and the Moldovan-German bilateral cooperation.
