According to the General Inspectorate of Police, a man driving a car lost control of the wheel on the road from Crihana Veche village to the city of Cahul. The car skidded and violently hit the railing of a bridge.

As a result of the impact, all four occupants of the car were transported to Cahul District Hospital for medical care. The 18-year-old passenger passed away shortly after admission, due to severe injuries, while the driver and the other two passengers remain hospitalized.

Law enforcement officials have initiated a criminal process to determine all the circumstances of the accident’s occurrence.

Law enforcement officials specify that the police officer whose weapon was involved in the incident has over 20 years of activity and experience in handling firearms.

IGP states that immediate medical assistance was provided to the injured person, and their life and health are not in danger.

The case is being investigated to determine all the circumstances of the incident, with the Prosecutor’s Office being notified.
