During the operational meeting of the municipal services, Mayor Ion Ceban stated that the municipality will try to attract a larger number of companies, including from abroad, to ensure competition at the auction and the selection of a contractor with experience in restoring historical monuments.

The head of the Capital Construction Department within the Chisinau City Hall, Andrei Ciochina, specified that the City Hall will provide information about the procurement procedure, including to the Patronage of Construction Companies in Romania and to other profile organizations, in order to encourage the participation of specialized firms.

“We invite all interested entrepreneurs to participate in this auction. It is a project of great complexity and responsibility, and all bids will be thoroughly examined, as it involves the restoration of one of the most important historical buildings in the municipality”, mentioned Andrei Ciochina.

At the same time, during the meeting, the general mayor requested that the new auction be promoted as much as possible, including through the embassies and professional organizations, and proposed the organization of a presentation meeting of the technical project for interested economic operators, so that they can ask questions before submitting their bids.

The airport administration announces that the works include the partial replanning of the building and its adaptation to the current air traffic requirements. Interested economic operators are invited to participate in the public procurement procedure.

The project will be fully funded from the company’s own revenues. The works will take place in several stages, so as not to affect the operational activity. Details about the participation conditions are published on the public procurement platform.

The auction for the terminal expansion was canceled at the beginning of the year due to issues with the technical documentation. The airport administrator, Sergiu Spoială, stated at the time that the project required a complete review, as it lacked details such as design solutions, equipment, and passenger flows.

Investments in buildings and special constructions recorded an increase of 13%, a trend supported by the growth of investments in residential buildings by 23.5%, as well as by the revival of investments in engineering constructions which, after several quarters of contraction, marked an increase of approximately 28%.

“Overall, the robust dynamics of investments confirm the entry of the Moldovan economy on a recovery trajectory, with favorable effects on medium-term economic growth, structural modernization and strengthening of the country’s development potential”, is stated in a press release from the ministry.

In the third quarter, gross fixed capital formation increased by almost 18%, contributing 3.7 percentage points to the 5.2% advance of the Gross Domestic Product.

The budget project for next year, voted by Parliament in the first reading, provides for an increase in capital investments to over 3 billion lei – the largest amount in recent years, according to the Ministry of Finance. Total capital expenditures are estimated at 11.4 billion lei, including 5.6 billion lei from the Economic Growth Plan, funded by the European Union with 1.9 billion euros.
