At least 31 people have been killed in Lebanon in Israeli shelling. Meanwhile, the Israeli army is expanding its ground operations in southern Lebanese territory, which has caused a massive exodus of the population, IPN reports, citing Al Jazeera.

The Beirut Ministry of Health reported that, in addition to the recorded deaths, 40 people were injured in bombings targeting several localities. The total toll of victims in Lebanon since the launch of the Israeli attacks in March has exceeded 3,200 dead and over 9,700 injured, according to official data. At the same time, the losses of the Israeli army amount to 23 soldiers.

The offensive is backed by a strategy of forced evacuation of the Lebanese population. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that the advance of the troops aims at securing strategic points and consolidating a security zone within Lebanese territory. In the course of these operations, Israeli attacks have also destroyed critical civilian infrastructure, including the Qaraoun dam area in the Bekaa region.

The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, stated that the responsibility for the presence of Israeli troops falls on the Lebanese Government, which he accuses of not fulfilling its obligation to prevent the access of Hezbollah group south of the Litani River.

Israel and Lebanon have agreed on a 10-day ceasefire, which will come into effect from April 21. The announcement was made by the American president, Donald Trump, acting as a mediator, after separate discussions with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and the Lebanese president, Joseph Aoun, reports IPN.

The American leader described the dialogue with the leaders of the two belligerent countries as excellent discussions and announced that he will invite Benjamin Netanyahu and Joseph Aoun to the White House for the first significant direct negotiations in recent decades, aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the region. Also, Donald Trump expressed his optimism about resolving the armed conflict.

Shortly after the announcement of the American president, Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the acceptance of the armistice, describing it as a historic opportunity for peace. However, Israel’s official stance remains firm on security. Netanyahu emphasized that the disarmament of the Hezbollah group remains an essential precondition for a long-term agreement.

At the same time, the Israeli Prime Minister emphasized that, although the armistice is agreed upon, for now, Israeli troops will remain on Lebanese territory. Furthermore, Israel intends to maintain a 10-kilometer security zone along the border in southern Lebanon.

On the other hand, the Lebanese president, Joseph Aoun, expressed his gratitude towards his American counterpart for the mediation efforts to reach this armistice, considering it a necessary foundation for permanent stability and peace in the region. The Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, described the ceasefire agreement as a national priority, noting that obtaining this agreement was a constant request from the officials in Beirut since the beginning of the war.

The Lebanese army has already issued warnings for the civilian population to be cautious when returning to conflict zones due to the risk of intermittent bombings reported even after the announcement of the ceasefire.

The American President, Donald Trump, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, are set to meet today at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, in an attempt to boost negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, reports IPN.

The meeting between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu takes place against the backdrop of the largely maintained first phase of the armistice between Israel and the Hamas group. This began in October, but with slowed progress, due to the fact that both parties accuse each other of violating the agreement.

The peace plan for the Gaza Strip was drafted by the leader of the White House and approved by the UN Security Council. The document includes 20 points, which, among other things, call for a ceasefire and the establishment of a transitional executive in Gaza.

The second stage of the armistice is based on the peace plan and aims to remove the control of the Hamas group over the Gaza Strip and create a new political and security framework.

The plan also provides for the reconstruction of the demilitarized Gaza Strip, under international supervision. This will be coordinated by a Peace Council, led by Donald Trump, with a two-year UN mandate and the possibility of extension.

At least 60 people lost their lives last night in the Israeli attacks launched in Gaza. Foreign media reports that among the victims there are also children, IPN reports.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army on Tuesday evening to carry out massive attacks on the Gaza Strip, after the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas recently violated the ceasefire.

The order came after an Israeli official reported that Hamas had fired upon Israeli forces in southern Gaza. Hamas postponed the handover of another hostage’s body in response to the attacks planned by Israel.

Subsequently, the American president, Donald Trump, who mediated peace between Israel and Hamas, declared that the ceasefire in Gaza is not in danger.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, asserts that the release of hostages by Hamas represents a historic moment and marks the beginning of a new era of peace in the Middle East. His speech, delivered in the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, takes place against the backdrop of the release of all Israeli hostages by Hamas, who were handed over to the International Red Cross. At the same time, the process of releasing approximately two thousand Palestinian prisoners by Israel is underway, reports IPN.

In his speech, Donald Trump underscored the end of the two-year war in the Gaza Strip, announcing a new era of hope and cooperation in the Middle East. He recalled the historical ties between the United States and Israel, mentioning that the two countries have built industries, made discoveries, fought together, and forged peace.

At the same time, the American leader promised an unprecedented regional cooperation, listing cities and countries in the Middle East that he sees united by new bonds of friendship, trade, and hope. According to him, Tel Aviv will be connected with Dubai, Jerusalem with Damascus, Israel with Egypt, Saudi Arabia with Qatar and Turkey with Jordan.

Donald Trump’s intervention in Israel was met with applause, being one of the few occasions when a leader from the White House was invited to address the Knesset.

Just today, Donald Trump and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, preside over a peace summit in Gaza. The meeting in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, on the Red Sea, brings together leaders from over 20 countries, including the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer. The office of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he will not participate in the summit due to its overlap with the start of the Jewish holiday Simchat Torah.

Israel and Hamas signed a ceasefire last week to end the war in the Gaza Strip, marking the first stage of US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan after two years of intense conflict.

The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas has begun the release of hostages as part of the ceasefire agreement, with seven Israelis being handed over to the International Red Cross. Today, US President Donald Trump arrived in Israel. The White House leader is set to deliver a speech in the Parliament (Knesset) about the two-year-long war in the Gaza Strip, reports IPN.

Today, the American president Donald Trump and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, will preside over a peace summit in Gaza. The meeting will take place in the afternoon, in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, by the Red Sea, with the participation of leaders from over 20 countries.

The release of the hostages takes place on the fourth day of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the moment as a “historic event, marked by sadness and joy”. In Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, dozens of people watched the images broadcast on a huge screen, where portraits of those held captive by Hamas since October 2023 were displayed.

After the establishment of peace in the region, the United Nations Organization declared that humanitarian aid is intensifying, with cooking gas being delivered for the first time since March, and food and medicine deliveries will be expanded.

The Israeli cabinet of ministers, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, has ratified the armistice signed with the Hamas group, marking the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Thus, the war that lasted two years and claimed the lives of over 67 thousand people has come to an end. The signing of the armistice represents the first stage of the peace agreement in the region, initiated by American President Donald Trump, reports IPN.

The ratification came just a few hours after Donald Trump and the representatives of the two belligerent parties each announced the signing of the armistice that ends the war. In a televised speech, the chief negotiator of Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, stated that the United States had provided clear guarantees regarding the definitive cessation of hostilities.

The leader of the White House announced that he will make a visit to the Middle East this weekend, to participate in the official signing of the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. Donald Trump assured that the release of Israeli hostages, as well as hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, is scheduled for the beginning of next week.

The peace plan proposed by the American President Donald Trump for the Gaza Strip is structured in 20 essential points. The document provides, among other things, the complete disarmament of the Hamas group and the establishment of an immediate armistice between the conflicting parties. Also, the plan stipulates the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Another key element is the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip, followed by the formation of a transitional government led by an international body responsible for managing the situation in the region.

Almost a week after the Hamas group in the Gaza Strip accepted the latest ceasefire proposal from mediators in Qatar and Egypt, Israel has yet to respond. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promises to immediately start negotiations to end the fighting and to release all hostages, if Israel’s conditions are met, reports IPN.

After 18 months of accepting only partial and phased ceasefire agreements, the Israeli Prime Minister now demands a comprehensive agreement, which ensures the release of all hostages and the complete cessation of war, under the conditions imposed by Israel.

The policy shift comes in a context where the Israeli dignitary is simultaneously accelerating plans for a massive military attack on the city of Gaza, following a dual strategy of negotiation and war for the “defeat of Hamas”.

Benjamin Netanyahu stated last week that he had instructed his team to immediately commence negotiations for the release of all hostages. This, while currently, on the negotiation table, a temporary armistice provides for the release of only half of the hostages.

The recent proposal is similar to the 60-day ceasefire that Netanyahu accepted in July. The terms are favorable to Israel, after the Hamas group showed flexibility regarding the number of prisoners to be released, as well as the size of the security perimeter.

In the meantime, the Prime Minister of Israel insisted on continuing plans for a massive assault by the Israeli army (IDF) and taking control of the city of Gaza. Israel believes that military pressure will force Hamas into negotiations.

The battles between the Israeli army and the group from Gaza erupted in October 2023. In March of the same year, after a two-month armistice, the Israeli army resumed attacks on the Strip.
