<p class="wp-block-paragraph">OpenAI has confirmed that the first cyberattack carried out autonomously by artificial intelligence has taken place. OpenAI representatives announced that one of its artificial intelligence models identified vulnerabilities in the system of a rival company, Hugging Face, and used them to gain access to its servers, according to <a href="https://www.euronews.com/next/2026/07/22/openai-models-broke-free-in-test-hacked-rival-hugging-face-in-major-breach">Euronews</a>, as cited by IPN.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The cyberattack was carried out by the new GPT-5.6 Sol and another, much more advanced model. OpenAI explained that the models were being tested in a controlled environment, but they found a way to access the internet to achieve their testing objectives. The targeted company, Hugging Face, is an open-source data platform used by researchers and companies in the field of artificial intelligence.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Information about the cyberattack had been known since last week, when Hugging Face announced that it had been the target of a highly sophisticated operation, most likely launched by an advanced artificial intelligence research lab. The incident is raising even more concerns about the negative effects of technological advancements in the field of artificial intelligence.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Middle and high school students can attend a free course on online safety and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools, launched by UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and Research. The program includes 26 practical lessons, through which students learn to protect their accounts, safely navigate the internet, and recognize false information generated with the help of artificial intelligence, reports IPN.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to the MEC, the course explains how artificial intelligence works, its possibilities and limitations. At the same time, the program aims to develop skills for responsible use of AI tools and to stimulate critical thinking among students.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The course participants will learn how to use artificial intelligence for exercises, verification questions, and examples that will help them better understand the material and identify areas that require in-depth study.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Also, the course presents ways of using AI tools for organizing information, including the creation of infographics, presentations, summary sheets or interactive tests.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The lessons are available for free on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Education and Research.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">South Korea has launched a multi-year industrial strategy worth over $576 billion for chip production and artificial intelligence technologies. The plan, presented by President Lee Jae Myung and backed by giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, aims to strengthen its position in the market and revitalize the industrial capacities in the south of the country, reports IPN, citing <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/south-korean-president-unveil-massive-ai-chip-investment-drive-2026-06-29/">Reuters</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The two companies will invest approximately 518 billion dollars to build four new industrial platforms for chip production. Additionally, investments of about 52.7 billion dollars are planned for the chip production packaging hub.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The strategy also aims at balancing economic growth by redirecting investments to the southern region of the country, where there are unexploited energy resources. Besides hardware production, South Korea plans massive investments in data centers, with estimated investments exceeding 650 billion dollars by the year 2035. The final component of the strategy involves developing a robotics hub to ensure the country&#8217;s competitiveness in the field of humanoid robots.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The discovery of significant gold deposits in California in 1848 sparked what history would remember as the &#8220;Gold Rush&#8221; &#8211; one of the largest economic migrations of the nineteenth century. Tens of thousands of people from the United States and around the world set off for the Pacific coast, attracted by the prospect of quick enrichment and a fresh start. In just a few years, this massive population movement radically changed the economic and demographic profile of the region.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The effects were spectacular. Modest localities transformed into dynamic urban centers, and cities like San Francisco experienced explosive growth. The increase in population and economic activity was so rapid that California was admitted as a state of the United States as early as 1850, just two years after the discovery of gold.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Beyond the immediate impact, the Gold Rush had lasting consequences on the evolution of the United States. It transformed California from a peripheral and sparsely populated province into one of the country&#8217;s main economic engines, accelerating American expansion to the west and consolidating the United States&#8217; position as a continental power. Not coincidentally, many historians believe that this episode contributed decisively to the shaping of modern America.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over time, the expression &#8220;gold rush&#8221; has transcended its historical meaning and has become a metaphor for periods when large masses of people are drawn to a new field, convinced that it offers exceptional opportunities for profit and social ascension. Today, more and more observers are using the same analogy to describe the explosion of investments and interest in artificial intelligence. Just as gold attracted adventurers, entrepreneurs and investors to 19th-century California, artificial intelligence is currently attracting capital, talent and ambition from around the world, generating the feeling that we are facing an economic and technological transformation comparable in scale to the great revolutions of the past.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>A new gold rush</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the San Francisco Bay area, the center of an economic transformation is taking shape today, comparable in scale and impact to the great gold rushes of the past. This time, however, the source of the new prosperity is not in underground deposits, but in technologies based on artificial intelligence, in data processing capabilities, and in the development of advanced algorithms. Major tech companies are fiercely competing to attract the most talented specialists, offering them remuneration and financial incentive packages that reach unprecedented levels. For many young engineers who have managed to join the most promising companies in the field of artificial intelligence from the early stages, the pace of capital accumulation is so rapid that early financial independence has become a very realistic prospect. In many cases, the success of such start-ups transforms ordinary specialists into owners of considerable fortunes in just a few years, confirming the magnitude of the opportunities created by the new technological revolution.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Behind the enthusiasm, however, hides a profound fear. Even the people who are building this new world are convinced that artificial intelligence will eliminate millions of jobs and radically change the structure of modern economies. In Silicon Valley, there is increasing talk of a future where only a few companies and a few states will control the main sources of the planet&#8217;s wealth.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is the real stake of the ongoing technological revolution.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Not all states will benefit from the new revolution</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Traditionally, major economic revolutions have produced both winners and losers. The Industrial Revolution transformed Great Britain into a global power and pushed other regions of the world into economic dependence. The digital revolution has consolidated the dominance of the United States and created unprecedented technological giants.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The revolution of artificial intelligence seems to follow the same logic.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The United States and China are already leading the race. South Korea, Japan and Taiwan hold significant positions due to the semiconductor industry. Europe has very few comparable examples. The case of the Dutch company ASML represents one of the rare exceptions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On the other hand, numerous states from Africa, Latin America, and the former Soviet space risk remaining outside the core of the new technological revolution, being kept in the role of raw material providers and markets for the products and services developed in the major innovation centers. Even in the case of countries with considerable energy resources, such as Russia, the lack of a competitive technological ecosystem, excessive dependence on the export of natural resources, and difficulties in integrating into the global chains of innovation limit the ability to fully exploit the opportunities offered by the new economy. In the era of artificial intelligence, the strategic advantage is no longer determined exclusively by control over energy or mineral resources, but by the ability to generate technologies, attract talents, process huge volumes of data, and have the necessary financial and digital infrastructure for transforming knowledge into economic and geopolitical power.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The problem is not just an economic one. It quickly becomes a geopolitical one.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Countries that will not have access to cutting-edge technologies will increasingly depend on those who control them. Just as oil determined global hierarchies in the 20th century, in the 21st century data, algorithms, and processing capacity may become the new instruments of power.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Lesson for Romania: security begins with technology</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For Romania, the revolution of artificial intelligence probably represents the most important strategic challenge after joining the European Union and NATO.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For decades, Romania&#8217;s competitive advantage has been represented by a well-prepared and relatively cheap labor force. The IT industry has developed spectacularly precisely because of this model. However, artificial intelligence threatens to automate exactly those activities that have made the economic success of many software companies possible.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the coming years, it will no longer be enough to have good programmers. What will matter is who owns the platforms, data centers, computing infrastructure and the ability to develop their own models of artificial intelligence.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Romania has several significant advantages: membership in the European Union, access to European funds, integration into the common market and the existence of a competitive IT sector. However, these advantages must be transformed into a coherent national strategy.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Investments in data centers, research, technological education, and cybersecurity are no longer just simple economic policies. They become components of national security.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the emerging new world, states that do not produce technology will end up consuming the technology produced by others and paying for it as a form of permanent economic tribute.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Lesson for the Republic of Moldova: neutrality does not produce development</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For the Republic of Moldova, the challenge is even greater. The Moldovan state enters this new technological era with limited resources, a reduced market, insufficiently developed infrastructure and a continuous exodus of skilled labor.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If two decades ago technological gaps could be relatively easily recovered, the artificial intelligence revolution risks creating structural differences almost impossible to recover.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The fundamental issue is that the development of artificial intelligence requires massive investments in energy, digital infrastructure, research, and education. None of these can be sustained in the long term by a small and vulnerable state.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From this, an essential strategic conclusion emerges: for the Republic of Moldova, integration into the Romanian and European economic and technological space is no longer just a political option, but a development necessity.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the context where the European Union is mobilizing hundreds of billions of euros for future technologies, defense, digitalization and artificial intelligence, the ability of the Republic of Moldova to participate in these processes directly depends on its degree of integration into Western structures.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The risk is clear. While the major powers massively invest in the technologies of the future, the Republic of Moldova may remain captive to identity disputes, the Transnistrian conflict and ongoing political crises.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">History shows that small states that miss technological revolutions end up paying the price for generations.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>A new world of inequalities</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perhaps the most important conclusion is that the artificial intelligence revolution will not only create new wealth. It can also generate new forms of inequality.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The gap between states that develop technology and those that merely use it, risks becoming larger than the current difference between developed countries and those in development.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In this equation, Romania still has the chance to enter the category of winners. However, the Republic of Moldova risks remaining outside the game if it does not accelerate the process of European integration by connecting to the Romanian economic and technological space.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is, probably, the most important lesson for Romania and the Republic of Moldova: the future will not belong to those who merely consume the technology created by others, but to those who participate in its development and control. In the new era of artificial intelligence, market size, innovation capacity, and access to human, financial, and institutional resources become decisive factors of competitiveness.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For the Republic of Moldova, a state with limited resources and a reduced internal market, the chance to truly participate in this historic competition cannot be separated from the goal of integrating as quickly and deeply as possible into the Romanian and European space. In a world where major technological transformations favor large-scale economic and political entities, Union with Romania no longer appears only as a historical and national ideal, but also as a strategic option for development and modernization.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By reunifying the Romanian space, the Republic of Moldova would have direct access to a larger market, to incomparably more substantial financial and institutional resources, to the Romanian technological ecosystem in full development and, through it, to the opportunities offered by the European Union. In conditions where the new technological revolution risks deepening the gaps between states that produce innovation and those that only import it, Unification becomes not only a matter of identity and national solidarity, but also the safest guarantee that the citizens between Prut and Nistru will not remain on the periphery of the world that is taking shape today.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Students will need to declare whether they have used artificial intelligence in drafting their bachelor&#8217;s, master&#8217;s, and doctoral theses, as well as in other academic activities. This provision is found in the Framework Regulation on academic integrity in higher education institutions, approved on Wednesday by the Government, reports IPN.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The document introduces for the first time uniform rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence in universities. According to it, AI tools can only be used under the conditions set by each institution and must be declared when they influence the evaluation of the work. Students can use them as support, but not to fully generate works presented as their own.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The regulation qualifies as academic misconduct the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence, including the failure to declare it or its significant impact on the outcome. Offenses will be classified as minor, medium, and serious. Sanctions for students may include redoing the work, cancelling the evaluation, non-admission to defend the thesis, or expulsion. Faculty and thesis supervisors may be disciplined or may temporarily lose the right to coordinate or evaluate work.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Universities will be obliged to establish their own rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence, to inform students and professors, and to create ethics committees for investigating violations. The regulation applies to all programs and academic activities in higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;The new rules provide universities with clear tools for preventing and sanctioning academic fraud, and contribute to the increase in prestige and credibility of the higher education system in the Republic of Moldova,&#8221; declared the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The European Commission uses artificial intelligence tools to cope with the ever-increasing workload in the process of expanding the European Union, which also involves the Republic of Moldova and other candidate states. According to European officials, the technology is used to analyze the legislation of the candidate countries and to check its alignment with European standards, reports IPN, citing <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/the-eus-secret-weapon-for-enlargement-ai/" id="https://www.politico.eu/article/the-eus-secret-weapon-for-enlargement-ai/">Politico</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Artificial intelligence tools are primarily used to assist officials in reading and comparing large volumes of legislative documents from countries wishing to join the European Union more quickly. Essentially, the system can more easily identify the differences between national laws and European rules and can signal where there are discrepancies.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Officials say that technology does not make decisions, but functions as a support for experts. It organizes information, structures it, and helps filter materials, so that specialists can focus on the actual analysis, which remains the responsibility of the officials.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To manage this flow more efficiently, the European Commission has internally developed its own artificial intelligence tool, after the launch of GPT@EC in 2024, a system dedicated to the institution&#8217;s employees. The aim was also to avoid the use of external platforms, for security and data protection reasons.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although artificial intelligence is seen as a support for the European Commission, some officials from candidate states express their reservations. They believe that AI should be used with caution, especially for simple tasks, such as translation or document organization, and not for complex legal analysis. They emphasize that final decisions should remain the responsibility of experts, to avoid errors in evaluation.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>Artificial intelligence is generating a lot of excitement: operations that were once difficult to perform are now just a click away, and the development in the field is becoming more fascinating every day. However, there are also many concerns, and it is natural that this should be the case, since some creative activities are increasingly replaced by digital technologies. How much is true and how much is exaggerated in the danger represented by artificial intelligence, we learned from Adrian Posteuca, an expert in creative technologies, in an<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKDWmaGRi-c"> interview</a> for IPN.</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon! The Creative Industries Festival brought to Chisinau professionals who explore how technology, art and innovation are changing the world we live in. Among the special guests of this festival is Adrian Posteuca, a specialist in new digital technologies, who spoke about the impact of artificial intelligence and new technologies on creativity. We continue the discussion that took place at the festival and in the IPN studio. Mr. Posteuca, welcome and thank you for accepting our invitation.</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">First of all, thank you for the invitation, it&#8217;s my first time in Chisinau, so I really like the atmosphere and this creative side.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Let&#8217;s see what happened at the Creative Industries Festival. You came right from there, you were on a panel and you also gave a presentation. I would like to ask you what was the most common concern or question among the participants?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the questions, and I believe the word is on everyone&#8217;s lips. I think there is no global conference that does not have the word AI in discussion. Certainly, the AI and the impact of AI on creative industries, whether we talk about media, whether we talk about art, whether we talk about culture, in the end, is very large. So the discussions are: will AI take our jobs, what happens with creativity, what happens with media, what happens with new formats and where does man find his place in this increasingly technologized world.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s normal for it to be like this and for these concerns about the future to exist. I would like to ask you if there is a change in the world we live in that people still fail to notice.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is a change and the world is constantly changing. It is a change because this new technology, this new tool called artificial intelligence is completely different from all the tools we have had so far. And a simpler and more understandable explanation for the viewers is related to the fact that most of the technologies we have had so far have been and are deterministic.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That is, the moment you press a button on the machine, you know the engine will start. You know that you pressed the letter T on the typewriter, certainly the letter T appears on the paper. The same goes for the mobile phone. So it&#8217;s deterministic. You pressed T, T happens. You&#8217;re not interested in what happens behind. A technology that you understand more or less. On the other hand, artificial intelligence comes with a different approach, a probabilistic approach to technologies that until now were deterministic. Our world is deterministic.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You open the door, the door goes to the left or to the right, but you know what action you will take. Whereas, when you go on an exploration, into the forest, nothing awaits you. That&#8217;s how it happens, meaning you just equip yourself with the necessary skills to survive in the forest.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Artificial intelligence brings this new approach to our lives, a probabilistic approach. Very often, our deterministic-trained thinking is already transforming. We believe that what is there is determined by intelligence. It is rather a probability. Certainly, we also live in a probabilistic world where we have learned over millions of years of evolution that if we approach a lion and the lion comes towards us, the probability is that we will be attacked. But it is a paradigm shift at the level of human interactions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>We&#8217;ve talked about all these concerns about artificial intelligence. I&#8217;d like to ask you, is there still some excitement?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is enthusiasm, because this development creates new directions. I was even talking with one of the guests, one of the panelists, about the fact that at the moment, each of us can be a creator. We can be a creator of art, a creator of beauty, we can ultimately be an artist. If in the past you needed certain skills and specific tools and a specific education to become a painter, not necessarily visual, but of the hand and hours of training, today you can expect a beautiful image from just a few words.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I said that you can expect, it doesn&#8217;t mean that whatever you write to the artificial intelligence, it will give you a beautiful image. It&#8217;s probable to give you a beautiful image for you. Probable. But there&#8217;s a big difference between being an image creator and an artist.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Precisely for this answer of yours, I have another question. Because many fear that artificial intelligence could produce much faster and much cheaper than humans. The question related to this statement is: where does the advantage of the human factor in creation remain?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">People will buy from people. People buy stories, not technology. And it&#8217;s one of the things I also said at the festival. People buy stories. The fact that journalism, stories, have survived hundreds of years, from written stories to radio, to television, now to the internet, brings us to the fact that stories have always survived. Only the way they are told changes. And then people will buy from people. Yes, there will be, let&#8217;s say, fast, quick products, that you need: to hang five paintings in the hallway of a hotel wall. You will make them with artificial intelligence.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">However, behind this speed, there will always be artists who will be better rated precisely because their work is manual labor. Just as there will be films made with artificial intelligence, which you will watch, but you will know that it is artificial intelligence, at the same time, human labor, when you see a play, when you see a film played by people, will be much more valuable. I think we just need to slightly change our view of what human value means. Because human value does not ultimately mean to stamp a thousand envelopes, right? That&#8217;s not what the valuable work of an employee, let&#8217;s say, means.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Because by the nature of your specialization you look to the future, I would like to look to the future in a few years and ask you whether the biggest challenge will be technological or of mentality and adaptation to progress?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I believe it&#8217;s about mentality and adaptability. First of all, I think we still have an education, or we are trying to educate children in a precarious way, and I believe that today&#8217;s education is based very much on the retention of data and facts and things. Less on logic, on causality, on things that make you curious, that make you understand certain phenomena, that make you go further. Technology gives you information at a click away. You no longer need to remember them, but you will need to put them in your own context.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Certainly, there are now jobs where theoretically you should have compared things you studied in college with real things. Now, artificial intelligence does that for you. What you need to do is to bring this multidisciplinarity that every person has, because you should not only know from a single field, but you should know as much as possible in order to make correlations.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>And because at the festival you most likely met specialists from all fields, from media, marketing, film, visual arts, I want to ask you what is the common point of their concerns? Where do these concerns meet in all these fields?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I believe that any creative industries festival must have the human being at its core. That is, what makes us human, what is beauty, regardless of whether the creative part comes with technology, comes with human manual craft, or whether there are different approaches to the way the human being is perceived. I believe that the human being, in any creative industry, should be at the center and must be at the center.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">What technologies we use, whether we use leaf printing, as there was a lady with leaves, as there was a lady in the courtyard of Artcor, or whether we use, I don&#8217;t know, digital, every person and the way we make this public, this person feel better, is ultimately what we all try to feel better, to work less, to have more time for ourselves and to explore the world.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>What advice do you have for a young person who wants a career in a creative industry, so that they are not overwhelmed by the changes that occur practically every hour?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I believe that the best advice is to be curious. To be curious, to learn from as many fields as possible, to be multidisciplinary, because the moment you become focused on something, you will have the misfortune of being trapped within some barriers. Generally, the more multidisciplinary you are, the more you understand from as many creative fields, from cinematography, to visual culture, to music, you will have a competitive advantage in prompting, in this part of interaction with artificial intelligence. Because artificial intelligence, I like to say, is as intelligent as the one who prompts it. There is no advantage of artificial intelligence other than that given by the prompter, by the one who creates the prompt.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>And because we are at IPN and we are a news agency, you mentioned it before, but I would like to go into a little more detail, how do you see the future of journalism in the era of artificial intelligence?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I believe &#8211; having a background in journalism &#8211; that there will be, or perhaps already are, two types of journalism. A utilitarian journalism, which will be increasingly impacted by artificial intelligence, namely: weather-related data, financial data, sports scores, and all sorts of things that can be transformed, that is, they are utilitarian. And then there&#8217;s investigative journalism, the kind done by people for people, made from capturing visual information passed through the journalist&#8217;s filter and carried forward, which will continue to exist, only it will be augmented, it will be enhanced by the impact of artificial intelligence, from automatic subtitles, from searching in complex data, from data visualization, because it&#8217;s easy to tell 25% of 3 million that you can&#8217;t visualize, but if you see these numbers, these data visualized in 3D, in 2D, if you see them on screen or somehow in front of your eyes, you can realize the impact of some economic figures.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And then, I believe that technology, whether it is &#8211; today everyone is talking about artificial intelligence &#8211; but over time, there has been talk about augmented reality, about the metaverse, all are technologies that will impact the future, even that of journalism.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Mr. Adrian Posteuca, thank you very much for this interview. These are topics that concern us all, regardless of whether we work in a creative industry or not, and the future we are talking about is already happening, right now.</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Artificial intelligence will not replace journalism, is the conclusion conveyed by the expert in new technologies, Adrian Posteuca, at the Media Production Conference within the Creative Industries Festival. During the event, he presented how AI technologies and tools influence content production, but also how the relationship between media and the public is changing, reports IPN.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Adrian Posteuca emphasized that the essence of journalism remains the same, regardless of the technologies used: the accurate presentation of information and the construction of stories relevant to the public. In his opinion, the major changes are more about how people consume information than the content itself. He pointed out that the media is undergoing a structural change, where information consumption has shifted from television to digital platforms and social networks. Today, the audience no longer revolves around traditional audiences, but around online communities, and this changes the way content is produced and delivered.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;We must understand that we are no longer just talking about audiences, but about communities. It matters a lot how we manage to reach people and capture their attention from the first seconds&#8221;, Adrian Posteuca stated. He also mentioned that current journalism needs to be adapted for multiple platforms, as each distribution channel has its own rules and its own audience. Thus, the same information must be presented differently on networks like TikTok or Instagram, compared to a news site or a classic newsletter.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In this context, the expert said that the role of the journalist is transforming, becoming more of a &#8220;director&#8221; who adapts the content according to the format and audience. &#8220;AI is not taking our place. It is a tool that helps us work faster and more efficiently, but editorial decisions still remain with people&#8221;, he pointed out.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Another topic addressed was the public&#8217;s trust in the press. Adrian Posteuca emphasized that, in an increasingly crowded information space, fact-checking and editorial transparency become essential. He mentioned that it is important for the public to know when and how artificial intelligence tools are used in the media production process.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the presentation, examples of artificial intelligence tools used in content production were also mentioned, which can simplify editorial work.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The use of artificial intelligence and the digitalisation of banking supervision were at the centre of discussions at the annual conference of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and South-Eastern Europe, held in Chisinau. Representatives of central banks from 24 countries, together with officials from European and international financial institutions, analysed how new technologies can support financial market monitoring and the early identification of risks, IPN reports.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In her speech, BNM Governor Anca Dragu noted that Moldova’s banking sector is stable, well capitalised and well governed, in line with the latest international supervisory standards. According to her, the organisation of the BSCEE Conference in Chisinau highlights the NBM’s active role in regional cooperation and its alignment with European practices.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Our responsibility is to protect financial stability today and to prepare the banking sector for the challenges of tomorrow – more complex, more digital and more interconnected than ever before,” the BNM Governor also said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">BNM Vice-Governor and acting BSCEE Chair Constantin Schendra stressed the importance of cooperation between regulatory authorities, as in an interconnected financial system, stability cannot be ensured in isolation. According to him, the organisation of the forum in Chisinau reconfirms the country’s commitment to aligning with European and international standards in banking supervision.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The National Bank says that the conference also addressed the adaptation of banking supervision to the digital transformations in the financial sector. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Republic of Moldova has secured the first place in the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2025 world competition, surpassing 109 teams from 33 countries, including the USA and Singapore. The achievement belongs to the students Anastasia Batrincea and Daniil Voznii, from the “Nicolae Milescu Spataru” Theoretical High School in Chisinau, who won in the 13-17 age category with the EDU-RAG project, a private and offline AI tutor, capable of quickly answering student questions in multiple languages and operating on regular computers, without a GPU, reports IPN.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">EDU-RAG is a digital learning assistant, designed to help students understand lessons and practice even without an internet connection. The program can be installed on standard school computers and provides explanations for exercises and concepts, so that students can learn at their own pace.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;We created EDU-RAG so that all students can have quick and clear help when they need to learn. We want every student to understand lessons more easily and progress without barriers,&#8221; said Anastasia Batrincea and Daniil Voznii.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The computer science professor Albert Lobanov, the team&#8217;s mentor, said that this year&#8217;s success confirms the potential of Moldovan students to compete at an international level.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, stated that this victory confirms the efficiency of investments in digital education and STEM programs.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The head of strategic projects at the National Association of ICT Companies, Ana Chirita, pointed out that students from Moldova have been participating in the Intel AI Global Impact Festival for five years and have achieved significant results. Last year, Moldova won first place globally for the first time, and this year&#8217;s victory reaffirms the ability of young people to use artificial intelligence to create projects of real value.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Intel AI Global Impact Festival promotes artificial intelligence projects with a positive impact on society and brings together student teams from around the world, offering them the opportunity to present their ideas and collaborate with international mentors.</p>
