By the end of this year 60 tonnes of milk powder, with a value of US$ 430,000, will be distributed to 48 public social institutions in Moldova. The humanitarian aid is offered by the Swiss Agency for the Development and Cooperation (SDC). This year SDC has increased the volume of its annual milk powder supply for the public social institutions and underprivileged persons in Moldova. In addition, 300 children from vulnerable families have been supported with consumables for the new school year, such as exercise books, pencils, etc. Switzerland has supported Moldova's transition through humanitarian aid and technical assistance projects since 2000. The Swiss Cooperation Office in Chisinau is responsible for coordinating these efforts. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is part of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
