Swiss Government to finance a project aiming at creating a system of occupational standards in technical field

The project Moldovan Occupational Standards, Evaluation and Certification (MOSEC), financed by the Swiss Government will be launched the next week in Chisinau. The project includes the creation and institutionalization of a system of occupational standards in the technical professional field. These standards aim at starting the process of modernizing the education programs, so that the professional instruction becomes more interesting for the young generation. The final products of the projects will include creating a team of experts, who are instructed in drafting occupational standards; about 200 occupational standards implemented with help from local specialists; a set of skill evaluation tests (minimum 20 000 tests); a national independent body, which will provide evaluation services, certificates and will elaborate new standards/ update of existing ones, according to the novelties of the labor market. Those who will benefit from the project’s results are the graduates of professional training schools; employers who create proper conditions to employees in order to comply with the new economic and technical standards and persons who practice their jobs for a long period of time, but do not have an official technical professional grounding. The project is financed through the Cooperation Bureau of Switzerland in Moldova.
