Swimming pools pose a risk of infection, even open-air ones

“For us, the borders of Israel and Greece are closed. Our compatriots cannot go to beaches in Romania because these are closed. The personnel have to self-isolate for 14 days and then go to the beach. The same happens in Ukrainian and many other countries of the region,” the director of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună said when asked how the tourists who go to the seaside should behave, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Nicolae Furtună stated that even if the borders remain closed, the people are eager to go to the seaside, to sunbathe. “The opening of borders and the new cases of importation of infections are reasons for continuing to self-isolate for 14 days when returning home,” noted the official.

As to the swimming pools, even the open-air ones, Nicolae Furtună said these pose a risk of infection as there are changing rooms there, which are a critical place.
