Swimming pool of “Mihai Viteazul” High School opened after renovation

A swimming pool was inaugurated and blessed at “Mihai Viteazu” High School that is located in Chisinau’s Centru district. The reconstruction works lasted for about six months and cost 3.1 million lei. The money was allocated from the municipal budget, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Chisinau City Hall. Attending the event, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said there are very few education institutions in Chisinau that have such swimming pools, except for the sports schools. He reiterated that the municipal administration intends to reconstruct a number of sports institutions so as to make sure that the students enjoy the best conditions. The high school’s head Nelly Berezovschi said they waited for this swimming pool to be inaugurated for 18 years. Last year the municipal authorities helped construct a football field at the school. The swimming pool of “Mihai Viteazu” High School is 72 square meters in area. It has a new water supply and sewerage system, a heating system and air conditioning system. The works to repair the interior and the façade were also performed with municipal money. The Romanian teaching High School “Mihai Viteazul” was founded in 1992. It is located on Gurie Grosu St.
