Swedish Parliament organizes interparliamentary meeting involving countries covered by Eastern Partnership

The head of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration Igor Corman will be participating in an interparliamentary meeting on the Parliamentary Dimension to the Eastern Partnership that will be held in the Swedish capital of Stockholm during October 20-22, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Parliament. The meeting will be attended by the heads of the foreign policy parliamentary commissions from the 27 EU member states and from the six countries covered by the Eastern Partnership. The Partnership includes new measures to support the social and economic development of Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Armenia, and five flagship initiatives that will give very concrete evidence of the EU's support. This is the first meeting of the kind held on the initiative of the Swedish Parliament. It will help shape the parliamentary dimension to the Eastern Partnership and identify cooperation possibilities between the parliaments of the six states.
