Prosecutors completed the investigation and sent to court the criminal case against two men who are accused of robbing jewelry shops in Chisinau and of committing a burglary in Calarasi district, IPN reports.
The prosecutors accuse the two of breaking into three jewelry shops in Chisinau, together with other accomplices, in February-May this year. These threatened the sales clerks with firearms and stole golden jewels to the value of over 400,000 lei. They also broke into the house of a woman from Calarasi district and stole money and things to the value of over 100,000 lei after tying her up.
Now the suspects, who are from the Transnistrian region, are held on remand. The prosecutors are taking measures to also arrest other members of the criminal group whose identity was discovered.
The suspects face up to 15 years in jail.
