The objects from the pictures published on Facebook, which were suspected of being shells, turned out to be accessories used to isolate electrical cable and pose no threat. The information was confirmed for IPN by the press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati.

Employees of the Chisinau Police Division established that the two objects looking like shells were situated near a utility pole on the Alley of Classical Writers of the Public Garden “Stephan the Great” of Chisinau. The area was fenced and a bomb squad was called out.

Spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defense Ala Diaconu said that a bomb disposal team of the Bomb Battalion “Codru” travelled to the scene. It determined that the suspect objects weren’t explosives.
