Suspect in Sangerei hit-and-run identified
The police identified a man who is suspected of being responsible for a hit-and-run in Sangerei district that led to the decapitation of a male pedestrian earlier this week.
The 28-year-old suspect confessed that he had been blinded by lights coming from the opposite direction; when he hit something he thought it was a dog and didn't stop to see what it was.
The police detected trails of blood on the man's gray Mercedes. A car part discovered on the scene of the accident also seemed to match.
The identity of the decapitated victim was confirmed. He was a resident of Bobletici vilage, aged 34.
The suspect now faces an imprisonment term of up to 7 years without the right to drive a vehicle for up 4 years.
