Suspect arrested in murder of Edinet elderly woman

The police have arrested a man suspected of killing an 81-year-old woman about 3 months ago in Edinet. The murderer struck to death his victim with several blows to the head, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a MoI press release, the aggressor entered his victim’s house on June 16 with the intention of stealing valuable items. He took only 700 lei, not before beating the elderly woman. As result of the wounds that were inflicted upon her, the 81-year-old died at the hospital shortly after.
The suspect, 25, is from Edinet and was previously convicted of theft and robbery. The man was charged with severe purposeful damage to health and bodily integrity which he faces up to 15 years in prison.
