The United Nations during October 14-31 is conducting a survey among pensioners who will receive the one-time payment of 2,300 lei announced last week. The citizens will be interviewed by competent persons either at home or by phone, which is why the local authorities are asking the involved pensioners to be ready to respond, IPN reports.
Vladimir Bolocan, deputy head of the General Division of Medical and Social Assistance of Chisinau, in a meeting said that the interviewees will be asked if they were informed and know about this lump sum. The interview will last for at most 40 minutes and the information provided by pensioners will remain strictly confidential and will not affect the provision of aid.
The support will be offered to about 31,000 citizens who have a 40-year contribution period completed by the time of retirement and receive a pension that does not exceed 3,300 lei. The allowances will be paid at post offices at the beginning of November and the beneficiaries will only have to present their identity card.
The aid is provided by the United Nations within the framework of the World Food Program.
