Surveillance cameras set up on streets in Taraclia

Video surveillance cameras are installed on the streets of Taraclia town within the project “Secured Town”. The works are to be completed at end-June, IPN reports, with reference to gagauzinfo.md.

The cameras are set up in places with intense road traffic, at central intersections, near parks, infrastructure facilities, playgrounds and sports grounds.

Mayor of Taraclia Sergei Filipov said the goal of the project is to strengthen pubic security in the town and reduce crime rate. The cameras will work round-the-clock and the information will be directed to the Taraclian Police Inspectorate.

The project “Secured Town” is financed with local budget funds. It is planned that the town will be outfitted with digital technology that will detect and warn about fires, smoke and gas discharge.
