Fifty-five parts of relics of saints and a part of the wooden cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified were taken to the Monastery “Great Saint Martyr Gheorghe” located in Suruceni village of Ialoveni district, IPN reports, quoting a note of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church.
The chest contains parts of the relics of Apostle Marcu, Grigorie the Theologian, Basil the Great, Great Martyr Ecaterina, Pious Martyr Epistimia, Martyr Parascheva, Empress Helen, Saint Hierarch Tarasius, Patriarch of Constantinople, and others.
The relics also include parts of saints buried in Roman catacombs. They will be permanently at the Monastery in Suruceni, where there are also parts of the relics of Saint Martyrs Epictet and Astion and the coffin with the right hand of Saint Antipa of Calapodesti.
