Gama Cahul lost the lead in the National Men’s Basketball Championship after being beaten by UASM by 102-53 in Chisinau, IPN reports.

Vice champion Gama had only one player in reserve and had no chance of wining against UASM for which Vladimir Prishchepnyi scored 22 times. After suffering the first defeat this season, Gama slipped to the third spot in the rankings.

Current holder of the championship Donbaschet Donduseni became the new leader. On November 9, it plays against Gama in the next stage.

In the women’s championship, Politeh took the lead after defeating champion ASEM by 85-76. Margarita Schitsko of Politeh scored 43 points in this match.
