The head of the surgery section of a Chisinau hospital was given a two-year suspended sentence for passive corruption.
The doctor was also fined 200,000 lei, but wasn’t banned from holding public posts, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
It was determined that the surgeon asked for and illegally took about 55,000 lei bribe from patients and their relatives for performing operations.
