Not even in the fifth meeting of the General Assembly of Judges could the judges elect the last member of the Supreme Council of Magistrates. Four judges competed for the last vacancy on the Council, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, the four candidates were: Ghenadie Morozan, Gheorghe Balan, Victor Boico, and Maria Ghervas. The May 30 meeting was attended by 335 judges of the 403 holding office.

As no candidate polled the necessary number of votes, a new meeting of the General Assembly of Judges will be called.
