The March 20 meeting of the Supreme Council of Magistrates is headed by a meeting chair. This is Nichifor Corochii, who replaced the newly elected President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim, who is a member of the Council, congratulated the head of state, giving him a bouquet of roses. “I congratulated him because he went through two of the three stages of the investiture as President and stopped heading the Supreme Council of Magistrates,” he stated. According to the minister, the law does not say within what period a new Council chairman must be elected. This will happen as soon as possible so that the Council works smoothly. Until then, there will be chosen by a meeting chair. While Nicolae Timofti was absent, most of the meetings have been chaired by Nichifor Corochii.
