Supporters of Șor Party, who were mostly older persons, in a protest mounted in front of the Presidential Place demanded that President Maia Sandu shoul reisgn. They accused Sandu of not taking steps to improve the quality of life, IPN reports.
Șor Party MP Marina Tauber said the people are tired of price rises and of the incompetence of Maia Sandu and the governmental team. “Time has come for Maia Sandu and her gang of bandits to leave,” she stated.
Marina Tauber noted that Șor Party does its best to create better living conditions and daily takes steps towards a better life, while the government takes only steps backward. “We demand that Maia Sandu should leave or she will be forced out of this building,” said the MP.
Sergei Burduji, municipal councilor representing Șor Party, said the people live worse and, if nothing is done now to safeguard the interests of families, older persons and persons with disabilities, everyone will remain without a future. Those who are in power promised a better life to everyone, but improved only their own life. The government uses the refugees crisis for political PR purposes. The aid intended for refugees is lost on the way and does not reach the people who need it. This shows that there are corrupt persons in power.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, the head of the Presidential Office’s Information and Mass Media Division Liliana Anghel said the presidential administration will not comment on the protest staged by Șor Party in front of the Presidential Palace.
