Members and sympathizers of the Communist Party picketed the Palace of the Republic in the morning of March 14. The protesters criticized the government, saying the ruling parties are unable to manage the country and all the state institutions became nonfunctional. According to them, the early elections are the only way out of the crisis situation, Info-Prim Neo reports. The leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin disapproved of the fact that this week’s sittings of Parliament were postponed and reiterated that Speaker Marian Lupu should be dismissed. He also said that the Communist symbols were illegally banned by the government. The PCRM will insist that the hammer and sickle be made legal again. According to Vladimir Voronin, more protests will be staged all over the country. From the Palace of the Republic, the participants in the event went to the Presidential Residence to continue the protest.
