Inspectors of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) found mold, holes in the floor and insects on surfaces in three summer camps in Nisporeni district and in two camps in Telenesti district. Camps’ managers were warned, while the identified faults were eliminated in the presence of members of the Agency, IPN reports.
“There were found no unsafe food products, only deviations from the menu. Candies banned in camps, kindergartens and schools were included in the menu,” Angela Chiriac, head of the ANSA Food Products Distribution and Consumption Supervision Division, told a news conference.
She added that the identified deviations weren’t very serious. That’s why the managers weren’t fined. “All the irregularities were removed immediately. The managers of the camps made effort to meet the hygiene and food keeping conditions,” said Angela Chiriac. Otherwise, the managers would have been fined 300 lei.
All the summer camps of the country were verified during the inspection.
In another development, ANSA director Gheorghe Gaberi said that over the last two months the Agency confiscated from companies about seven tonnes of meat, more than two tonnes of fish products, about 15 tonnes of fruit and approximately 1,000 eggs because they were produced or kept not according to rules.
