The girl from Teleșeu village of Orhei district, who died in the hospital several days after the death of her mother, got poisoned with a substance intended for veterinary use, National Food Safety Agency vice director Ion Toma has told IPN.

He said that according to preliminary reports, the substance was administered to the girl for therapeutic purposes. A relative of the girl was also hospitalized with poisoning. 

Ion Toma noted that it happened in the house of relatives who live in another village, where the girl went after the death of her mother.

The girl’s cousin who also got poisoned is in intensive care. Elena Palanciuc, medical vice director of the Orhei District Hospital, stated for IPN that the patent’s state is serious, but stable.
