This year, the Government has provided 300 million lei subsidies to farmers. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc said the applications continue to be processed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The minister said there will be also given subsidies to over 2,000 individual applicants and to savings and loan associations, where there are about 14,000 beneficiaries. Those who took out loans from banks will receive money when they will make the payments on the loan for 2010, as stipulated in the regulations.
Valeriu Cosarciuc said last year the Government paid 113 million lei in overdue subsidies to farmers, in accordance with the budget law for 2008. After the budget was adjusted, the agriculture subsidization fund was increased by 250 million lei.
