The Chisinau residents who did not file applications for compensations for heat should hurry up, said Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. The compensations are provided to families whose monthly income per capita is lower than 1,450 lei. In Monday’s ordinary meeting of the City Hall officials, Infocom head Ion Margineanu said about 17,000 persons submitted applications so far. Compensations to the value of 3 million lei have been provided after the heating season started. Another 4,000 applications are to be processed. Approximately 30,000 families received compensations for heat the previous heating season. Ion Margineanu also said that the heating bills for October are lower compared with the previous heating season as the volume of heat supplied was decreased following the warming up. The sums indicated in 92% of the bills vary between 100 and 500 lei. 35% of the population of Chisinau municipality has paid for the heat supplied in October.
