A sub-officer of the Patrol Service of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia was arrested after a woman from Cantemir complained that this asked €470 from her for helping her pass the driving test.

In the afternoon of March 2, officers of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors caught the suspect in the act of taking the €470. After he was arrested, he voluntarily yielded up the money, IPN has learned from the National Anticorruption Center.

The sub-officer faces up to seven years in jail for traffic of influence.
