FAO will conduct a study of the impact of the support measures financed by the National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund. The quantitative and qualitative assessment is necessary for the efficient management of the Fund’s resources and for designing or reviewing the subsidization program designed to support agricultural producers, IPN reports.
The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) said it asked for assistance from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Moldova in carrying out an impact study. The assessment will provide recommendations for the new subsidization program that could be used as a basis for a new agricultural and rural strategy.
The analysis of the impact of the schemes financed with state budget funds will consist of an exhaustive assessment of the solid economic performance of the recipients of subsides by reviewing the technical and financial situation of these, the economic performance of enterprises and the implementation of innovatory practices, said the AIPA.
