As of next January, the students of a number of education institutions situated in Chisinau and another six districts of the country could attend extra-school courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of the first stage of the TwentyTu educational project. Towards 2022, the project will enable all the students in Moldova to optionally study AI, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the project, the course will enable the students to develop the skills needed to cope with challenges of the future and technological discoveries. AI is the empowerment of a computer to copy the functions of the human brain and to perform a series of moves typical of humans. In the classes, through interactive and practical games, the children will study the main principles of this science.
Medicine is one of the areas that benefits from AI the most. Modern apparatus can detect a number of difficult to diagnose diseases and this is done much faster than the humans can do.
The importance of AI was also proven in agriculture, where smart farm equipment is used. With the assistance of this, the seeds are sowed at an ideal distance from each other and the used quantity is optimal. This way the farmers can increase production and the sustained losses are reduced to a minimum.
The courses taught within the project will cover such areas as robotics, interactive programing, mobile applications, virtual reality astronomy, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, personal development and others.
