Students poison with fast food in Balti
A number of students of a Floresti-based high school got poisoned with fast food in Balti town, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo.
According to Liliana Puscasu, 16 students of the “Ion Creanga” High School aged between 11 and 15 went on a trip to Balti town. At lunch, the children ate hot dogs and Big Macs in a café. In several hours, all of them complained of nausea, weakness and stomachaches.
Seven of the 16 students were admitted to the infectious diseases section of the Floresti district hospital, while the others are receiving treatment at home. Salmonella was detected in three of the hospitalized children. An investigation is under way.
The same day, a house caught fire in Balti. A woman aged 53 and her 35-year-old son were killed in the fire. According to investigators, the fire was caused by a burning cigarette.
The ten fires that occurred in Moldova on November 1 claimed two lives.
