In the food products taken from the canteen of “Aristotel” High School, there were found no pathogenic microorganisms that could cause food poisoning. The inspection carried out by the National Public Health Agency (NPHA) suggests that the students got poisoned elsewhere, not in the canteen, IPN reports.
After the recommended disinfection and hygiene works, the high school’s canteen will be reopened.
Vladimir Bolocan, deputy head of the General Medical and Social Assistance Division of Chisinau, at today’s meeting of officials of municipal services, said that the condition of the infected students has improved and many of them can already return to classes. Those who remain in the hospital will be discharged in a few days.
The case of mass poisoning was reported on September 19. Then, an employee of the National Theoretical High School “Aristotel” of Chisinau and 20 students were taken to the hospital. In total, at least 65 students complained of malaise. At the end of last week, the National Public Health Agency said the laboratory results showed that seven of the over 60 students who got poisoned tested positive for norovirus infection.
