Of the 18 schools teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region and in the Security Zone, which were affected by the energy crisis, eight institutions work in an online regime. Another 10 schools, which have generators, carry out lessons with physical presence. The situation of educational institutions was discussed at the Ministry of Education and Research with the directors of general education institutions situated in the localities affected by the energy crisis on the left bank of the Nistru River and with the heads of education divisions in the affected districts, IPN reported.
According to the Ministry of Education, lessons with physical presence are held at "Ion Creangă" Theoretical High School in Coșnița, Dubăsari; Secondary School in Pârâta, Dubăsari; Theoretical High School in Varnița, Anenii Noi; "Stefan cel Mare si Sfânt" Theoretical High School in Grigoriopol (Doroțcaia); "Ion Creangă" Theoretical High school in Hârbovăț, where the primary school and the secondary school were merged.
Five other schools also welcome students in classrooms, but have reserves of energy resources until January 20. These are: Doroțcaia Theoretical High School, Dubasari; "Ioan Vodă" Secondary School in Hagimus, Causeni; "Mihail Sadoveanu" Theoretical High School in Fârlădeni, Causeni; "Prometeu" Secondary School, and "Vasile Alecsandri" Secondary School in Copanca, Causeni.
Online lessons are staged by: "Anatol Codru" Secondary School in Molovata Nouă, Dubasari; "Vlad Ioviță" Theoretical High School in Cocieri, Dubăsari; "Constantin Sucitu" Secondary School in Corjova, Dubasari; "Mihai Eminescu" Theoretical High School in Corjova, Dubasari; "Evrica" Theoretical High School in Ribnita; "Lucian Blaga" Theoretical High School in Tiraspol; Secondary School in Roghi, Dubăsari; "Alexandru cel Bun" Theoretical High School in Bender, where only the ninth and twelfth graders have lessons with physical presence.
Given the need to save power, it was proposed to implement solutions so that the students can continue educational activities online, where possible. These measures will be adopted according to the technical capacities and infrastructure of each locality. Thus, students will have access to the necessary equipment to participate in online classes.
"We will provide the institutions with 350 computers purchased according to the made requests. We are waiting for additional requests for other necessary equipment, such as air conditioners and other devices," said Minister Dan Perciun.
As the supply of electricity in the Transnistrian region is temporarily turned off each day, the administration in Tiraspol extended the winter vacation of students until January 19.
