The Cabinet endorsed the regulations that set down the defining elements of dual education and specify the time allotted for theoretical and practical training. These provide that the students working at a company will get apprentice salary. The regulations also define the powers of the Chamber of Trade and Industry, which is the Government’s partner in implementing the dual education program, IPN reports.

Dual education is an alternative form of technical professional education that combines apprenticeships in a company and training at a vocational education institution. Practical training represents about 70% of the general training and the graduates can be employed at the company. Dual education will be financed with state budget funds and the resources of business entities.

During the 2016-2017 academic year, about 20 companies implemented such programs of studies in cooperation with nine vocational education institutions.
