Strelet suggests former MP tries to break up governing coalition

Valeriu Strelet, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group, suggested that a former MP, Veaceslav Platon of the defunct Moldova Noastra party, could be behind attempts to break up the Pro-European Coalition. Democrat leader Marian Lupu said there are attempts from both inside and outside to accomplish this.

Strelet told reporters that someone is trying to lure MPs and reorganize them into a new parliamentary group. “We are ready for any development of the situation”, said .

Marian Lupu said that such attempts aim at sabotaging the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. “If someone caves in to these attempts of corruption, they will be punished by the citizens”.

Earlier today Democrat MP Valentina Stratan revealed on a social network account that she was contacted by someone who told her a new group would be formed in the Parliament by MPs who would defect from the Liberal-Democrats, the Democrats and the Liberal-Reformists, and she was invited to join.
