The Premier designate Valeriu Strelet aims to swiftly identify a permanent format of dialogue with the scientific community so as to analyze the existing problems and to engage the scientists in finding solutions and putting them into practice. He made such a statement after the consultations held at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, IPN reports.
“I had a very constructive dialogue with our scientists, by which we highlighted the most acute problems faced not only by science, renovation and research, but also by society in general. We are to discuss these problems together and to find solutions to them,” stated Valeriu Strelet.
The Academy’s president Gheorghe Duca said the discussion was very good. They formulated proposals for different sectors. Valeriu Strelet accepted creating a consultative council of scientists and researchers under the Prime Minister. “Valeriu Strelet inspired us with confidence. He is a very dynamic person, with a historical, legal and economic background. He asserted himself as a politician in Parliament. We believe in him and hope that he is a good choice of the governing coalition,” stated Gheorghe Duca.
The Premier designate also met with representatives of employers. Valeriu Strelet said the challenges are great. Corruption and fraud in the financial-banking sector directly affected the economic processes. The state must create optimal conditions for development and improve the economic processes.
According to Strelet, a priority is to restore the relations with the donors so as to get that budget support needed for ensuring economic stability. The business community will be stimulated, including by instituting a reasonable regressive taxation scale. The Government’s program that is now being formulated provides that no document without economic substantiation will be examined by the executive.
Strelet invited the employers to establish a dialogue and communication so as to solve the existing problems step by step.
Earlier today, Valeriu Strelet had discussions with representatives of the Democratic Party. In the evening, he will meet with representatives of the trade unions and the Liberal Party. Tomorrow he will have meetings with people of culture and civil society representatives.
