Strelet about protests of PSRM and PPPN: The greater the chaos, the better for them

“It is evident that these politicians follow the principle “The greater the chaos and the more difficult the situation is in society, economy and other sectors, the better”,” Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet said, commenting on the intentions of the leaders of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and ”Our Party” (PPPN) Igor Dodon and Renato Usatyi to mount protests this Sunday, IPN reports.

In a press briefing on September 21, the Premier said it is absolutely evident that these two parties act in concert. The two behave like veritable opposition parties that tend to fully make use of the destabilizing circumstances that exist in Moldova, according to them.

“Any peaceful protest organized in accordance with the law will be respected by the Moldovan authorities. The police will make sure to prevent provocations and altercations, but the protesters should also bear such a responsibility. All the other political processes related to resignations and amendment of the Constitution must take place in strict compliance with the law,” stated the Premier.

The leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon announced that they will mount a protest ‘against the oligarchs from power’ on September 27. According to him, the participants in the protest, which will be staged in concert with the PPPN, will demand that the head of state should be elected directly by the people, that early legislative elections be held and that the administration of a number of institutions, including the Central Election Commission, the National Bank of Moldova and the Prosecutor General’s Office, should be dismissed. For his part, the leader of the PPPN Renato Usatyi said the goal of the protests is to wake up the whole population because there is no other mechanism for exerting influence than holding protests.
