Angry that they were fined by the police, street vendors blocked the road in front of the market of Flacara Complex in Buiucani district, disrupting traffic for several minutes.
“The police do their duty to combat street trading. The sellers are angry, but now the district head’s office should communicate with them and convince them to work on the market’s territory,” spokesman for the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir has told IPN.
The police said the raids carried out on March 22 and the reports on the committed offenses are not the first and the last actions of the kind, which are aimed at combating street trading. The vendors who break the law face fines of up to 6,000 lei.
