Street trade around Central Market will be forbidden
Beginning on September 3, the trade in industrial goods, food and farm products on the territory adjacent to the Central Market, within the perimeter of Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Avenue, of streets Armeneasca, Mitropolit Varlaam, Bulgara, Tighina and Ismail, is strictly forbidden under a mayoral ordinance, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I wish the issuing of short-term trade authorizations, which have been issued until September 3, to stop. Once they get an authorization, the enterprises install 3-4 more tables and today we still have to deal with the same problems regarding unauthorized trade”, stated municipal police chief Silviu Musuc at the City Hall's meeting on Tuesday.
Deputy Mayor Vlad Cotet said that Ciocana sector became a new “Central Market” because of the stalls placed everywhere. “There is no turf there, it’s a dance market and after the companies finish their work, our services have to work hard to clean up and restore the turf. I think this unauthorized trade should be put an end to once and for all and this must be done with the help of the police”, declared the Deputy Mayor.
Considering the negative impact of street trade on the image of Chisinau and the numerous complaints from people, the municipal police will not allow night trade on Mitropolit Varlaam St, between Tighina St and Armeneasca St, and companies owning offices and kiosks on the streets Stefan cel Mare si Sfant, Armeneasca, Mitropolit Varlaam, Bulgara, Tighina and Ismail, will be forbidden to display their goods in the zones adjacent to their buildings and kiosks, and will have to ensure the maintenance of this zones, according to established sanitary norms.
The police applied fines of over 2.5 million lei for unauthorized trade, of which the fined companies paid about 600,000 lei.
