Street lighting towards Chisinau Airport will start to work by this weekend

The lighting on Chisinau’s Dacia Blvd, the section between the City’s Gates and the Airport, will be turned on by the end of this week, the director of the municipal lighting company “Lumteh” Nicolae Vereshko announced in the January 26 meeting of officials of Chisinau subdivisions and services, IPN reports.

The acting head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Igor Gamretski said that about 5 million lei was saved by implementing this project. This money could be used to extend the street lighting up to the entrance to Sangera town.

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked the competent divisions to determine the costs of extending the street lighting up to Sangera and of implementing the project.

The lighting network of about 6.5 km is placed up in the middle of the road. The 11-meter high poles with two arms will light both of the lanes. The technical project to modernize the street lightning on Dacia Blvd is implemented by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, while the Chisinau City Hall performs the works themselves. The cost of the project is about 27 million lei. This money was planned in the 2014 municipal budget.
