As of September 6, the section of Sfatul Ţării St between the streets Anatol Corobceanu and Alexe Mateevici will be inaccessible to traffic in connection with works to rehabilitate the sewer pipe, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the water supplier.
According to SA “Apă-Canal Chișinău”, the renovation works will last until the end of November and the working schedule can be modified depending on the volume and complexity of works. Therefore, the public transport could run on modified routes.
The rehabilitated water pipe from București St, between the streets A. Pushkin and Mitropolit G. Bănulescu –Bodoni, started to be tested. The works to renovate the sewer pipe in the perimeter of the streets I. Pruncul, Sf. Andrei and Sfatul Ţării continue and are to be completed on October 10.
The agreement on the rehabilitation of about 7 km of sewer pipes to the value of over €1 million is implemented by a local company that won the international tender contest.
The agreement forms part of the Program to Develop Water Supply Services in the municipality of Chisinau to the total value of about €61.8 million that is financed with the loans raised by SA “Apă-Canal Chişinău” from the EBRD and EIB and with the investment grant provided by the EU through the Neighborhood Investment Facility.
