Strategy for reforming framework regulating entrepreneurial activity approved

The Government approved the strategy for reforming the framework regulating the entrepreneurial activity for 2013-2020 in its first thematic meeting that was held in Holercani on July 20, behind closed doors. The document has three main objectives: to develop a system for regulating concessions; to develop stimuli for effectively implementing reforms, and to improve communication and increase the interested sides’ participation in reforms, PN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Government, the new strategy is aimed at changing the philosophy of the previous reforms by laying emphasis on economic development based on investments and competitiveness. It is also designed to promote a more intelligent regulatory system, i.e. clearer rules, flexibility in implementing innovations and performance standards for the business community.

The strategy’s specific goals refer to the optimization of the regulatory framework and administrative procedures by modernizing public services and improving interaction and interoperability of the state institutions, especially in processing and exchanging information. For the purpose, the Government intends to broadly use the infrastructure of electronic services created with the support of the development partners.

In the same meeting, the executive discussed the action plan for developing the business environment for 2013-2014. The document is to be debated at consultations with representatives of businesses in the immediate future.

The July 20 meeting was the first of the five thematic meetings of the Government centering on important matters for the country’s economic development.
