Stoianoglo and parliamentary elections: I will be grateful to those who will respond to this initiative

"Citizens' congresses and direct consultations with voters are our chance not only to survive, but to also rebuild and develop the country,” said former prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo says. The former presidential candidate, who recently announced that he would contend in the parliamentary elections as well, said he will be grateful to those who will respond to his initiative, including to those from among politicians, IPN reports.

"My experience shows: beyond the political parties there are many competent, honest and dedicated people, but they are ignored by the system. And when we ask ourselves "what is to be done?", the answer must be sought, first of all, among them, the citizens," said Alexandr Stoianoglo.

The former candidate for President did not provide details about the initiative he urges the people to join, but said that "this is not Alexandr Stoianoglo's personal project, but is the project of each of us."

"Those who want to make their voice heard and break the bureaucratic and party filters can count on both a new experience of political involvement and concrete results. The decisions taken at these congresses will not be simple recommendations, but will become firm demands addressed to the authorities – the voice of the citizens who are tired of chaos and want predictability, competence and fair elections," noted Alexandr Stoianoglo.

The former prosecutor general ran in the presidential election last autumn and was supported by the Party of Socialists led by Igor Dodon in it. In the runoff vote, he gained 44.59% of the vote, losing to Maia Sandu. After the election, the Socialists challenged the results and mounted a number of protests, in which Stoianoglo did not yet participate.
