Stiinta Bacau wins first edition of Pervanchuk memorial

Stiinta Bacau has worn the first edition of the men’s handball memorial ”Anatol Pervanchuk”. In the final, the team from Romania beat Olimpus-85 USEFS 35-32, IPN reports.

Maxim Shipulin was the top scorer of the final, with 11 goals. For Stiinta, Vladut Rusu scored seven goals. Alexei Pervanchuk of Olimpus was named the best player of the competition.

Stiinta won another two matches in this tournament: 39-29 against PGU Tiraspol and 44-22 against Ukraine’s Portovik Yujnyi. Thus, the team from Bacau obtained six points, by two more than Olimpus-85. PGU ranked third with two points.

Anatol Pervanchuk died last year. He was the founder of the club Olimpus-85 USEFS.
