The number of persons who contribute to the social instance budget is equal to the number of pensioners. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Stela Grigoras, in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, said this ratio is very frail. This means that a person who works ensures the pension of a pensioner, IPN reports.

Stela Grigoras noted that conditions should be created to attract new players to the pension system and this should be done both through the pension reform and other policies related to this. “I speak about the fighting of the underground economy, a new employment policy. We need to attract investment,” stated the minister.

She also said that the pension determination formula is now simple and consists of three factors: total insurance period, volume of contributions paid into the social insurance budget and the coefficient of 1.35%, which ensures the rate of replacement of the salary with the pension.

According to Stela Grigoras, a system for calculating the pension online is now being worked out. This will enable the persons to introduce the personal data and to determine the pension themselves.
