Ștefan Gligor: With current majority, there are no chances to see a justice sector reform

Public policy expert Ștefan Gligor said the current parliamentary majority formed by the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party offers no chances of doing the justice sector reform. According to him, the Democrats will never want a real justice sector reform given that the state was declared captured at the time of their governance.

“The Socialists, betraying their coalition partners to whom they promised to de-oligarchize the state and free it from persons who held posts in Parliament, betraying the supporters, formed a parliamentary majority and the Government together with those from which they intended to free the state. Do you think the Democrats will do a real justice sector reform so as to later be held accountable by that justice system?” Ștefan Gligor was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel.

According to the expert, an authentic justice sector reform can be done only after snap parliamentary elections are held. “This is our only chance to see real reforms. We will be able to implement a package of reforms and to de-oligarchize the state and hold accountable those who robbed the state only if we have 55 seats in Moldova’s Parliament occupied by incorruptible people,” noted Ștefan Gligor.

He said the Democrats do not want snap elections because they would gain not even one third of the seats they hold now in these.
