The leader of the initiative group for constituting the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor said that their political project will take part in the eventual snap parliamentary elections. Effort is now made to register officially the party before the election date is set so that it could compete in elections. The Party of Change will be an option for the persons who are disappointed in the political class, IPN reports.
Ștefan Gligor said the party’s congress will take place in February and the swiftness with which the party is being constituted is due to the fact that they aim to register it as quickly as possible so as to be able to compete in the snap parliamentary elections.
“We consider that in the current political context, the snap elections will be lost in favor of the PSRM, the Shor Party. Therefore, our involvement in politics resulted from an analysis, not from an ambition,” Ștefan Gligor stated in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 TV channel.
He expressed his conviction that their party will enter the next Parliament and noted that their political project is an alternative for the citizens who are disappointed with the whole political class.
“We realize that a project that would unite the disappointed people around it is now needed. I refer to people who now cannot find a valid option among the existing ones. An authentic, credible offer is needed and this can make a direct contribution to the formation of an upright Parliament,” stated Ștefan Gligor.
He also said that the Party of Change will not combine forces with the parties of the right in order to enter Parliament and will compete in the snap elections on its own.
“We have people who came to our project from the AMN, PDM, PLDM, PL and even unionists. We will prove that we can unite society not around personal ambitions, but around a concept of development. We do not want to form an electoral bloc. We came to offer a voting option to the 40% of undecided voters who now do not trust anyone,” stated Ștefan Gligor.
Under the law, to be registered a political party must have at least 1,000 members.
